Hudson River Rainbow
Didn’t someone, at some point say
Without an ounce of apology, without a single thought
The Green turtle, the one with blue back
The Hammerhead shark, the one with hammer-shaped head
You, who freely rip through the sky
They say it’s all dazzling fantasies
Like tropical fish, yellow stripes streaking down their black bellies
Poetry note:
Deep at the Hudson River’s bottom, you’re hidden in fantasies.
Watching the rising rainbow after the rain clears, I know it’s you.
