Hand Clasp
-- To Matisse's painting "Young Girl with Anemones in Purple Background" (1944)
Purple background purple basis
The girl's right lower arm muscles are bulging
Green-blue, light green-blue color that dominates purple
Two anemones, red flowers covering the breast
Ten fingers Which finger is which finger
It's okay if you don't know
Note on the Muse:
Matisse's purple background is mysterious. The expression on the girl's face is stealing my gaze. Why is it that she is clasping her hands on the purple tablecloth, I wonder.
