Autonomic Nervous System
-- To the woman in Matisse's painting "In the forest" (1922)
Part of the forest, whole forest, cool forest
The trees are tall So cool, isn't it?
To the blue sky between the trees
Spirit is flying about
Spirit that flies freely without wings
Woman’s mind reading a book sitting on a flesh-colored blanket in the forest
Note on the Muse:
Matisse often draws women very small on canvas.
In the painting, a woman flies up in the sky to get the
lowdown of the autonomy shown by nature. We all do this.
