Seven Pears
-- To the Woman in Matisse's Painting "Plum Blossom, Green Background" (1948)
Blurry part
Light-scattered part
Green background Christmas tree winter background
Green afternoon Forsythia and apricot flowers blossoming
Acidulous American pears rising here and there sparsely
Cozy red-ink-colored floor
Faint, very faint face
Note on the Muse:
I am curious as to why Matisse often refrains from drawing eyes, nose, and mouth on women's faces. Although I have no intention of finding the right answer.
