White Background Dress
-- To Matisse's painting, "Woman Seated at a Dressing Table" (1924)
A couple of bottles of perfume
A small flower vase with five, six pink flowers
The inner chamber of a woman peeked into by a palm tree
How is it that there’s no mirror on the dressing table?
A light dress tipped by the sea breeze
Worms, the size of fingers crawling Two or three hundred of them
Note on Muse:
In Matisse's paintings, women and windows often appear together. There is a certain angle between them, allowing the frequent flow of sea breezes in between. Worms find their way inside as well.
