Blunt Hands
-- To Matisse's painting, "Woman in Bathing Suit" (1935)
Armrests starting with the letter J
Rain, drizzle falling on the red chair
Eyes, fingers, ah, fingers aren’t there
A woman without lower abdomen
The color of forsythia beyond March
A background of yellow mixed with green can be a dread
The almost black lips and the striped brassiere as well
Note on Muse:
Sometimes chairs or tables appear as texts rather than objects. In Matisse's paintings, there are moments when women also appear that way. In essence, objects are engaged in a battle between lines and colors. Colors overpower lines since they occupy more space. This is particularly true for living organisms.
