Backbone
--- to the 'Naked Woman' in Henri Matisse's painting (1949)
With eyes closed, I see better
The bold lines
Spring wind, summer wind, much more tender
With bare flesh, bare skin
The fundamental principal tightly covered
When bent, it protrudes a little
With no concern for front or back
The right and left are in the middle of a mix-up
With an invisible force, while we are
In the middle of turning our heads
Note on Muse:
Throughout his life, Matisse enjoyed his expertise in exposure and concealment. As he aged, it seems that he preferred lines rather than colors. Maybe he totally wanted to cover the colors with lines, I wonder. Anyway, sometimes I get a little afraid of his thick lines.
