Face

-- To the woman in Matisse's "Smiling Face" (1951)

Light and dark Half and half

Eyes rivetted Brr

One of the eyebrows is longer

Saying some things unceasingly

The sailboat lips The sound of the wind now

Note on the Muse:

Matisse's women oftentimes look downward in the paintings.

This woman looks at me, eyes wide open. As if smiling a little.
