Pushing Arms Back

-- To the Painting, "Reclining Dancer" by Matisse (1925-1926)

Isn’t imagination alone good enough?

Dense forest, a woman’s animation image with vibrant vigor

The sorrows in black and white

Trembling signature

Yes, yes, imagination alone falls short

Note on the Muse:

There are times when Matisse's carelessly painted woman appears somewhat melancholic. The dancer in the painting leaps up and dances. Sometimes she spins and leans her head back, briefly gazing up at the sky.
