Waves

-- To "Dancer in Blue *Tutu" painted by Matisse (1942)

A vase putting both arms around the waist

A woman putting left arm around the waist

Somehow dark side, a comfortable look

Vivid eyelashes

Strong femoral muscles, strong thighs

Color orange, watermelon, blue tutu, tutu

Black waves, serene waves

*tutu: a pleated skirt worn during ballet

Note on the Muse:

There are times when the orange looks somehow dark. It's not always

like that, but it's kind of like that when Matisse's woman's skirt waves.
