Summer Sea
-- To the “Woman with a Red Umbrella Seated in Profile” in Matisse’s painting (1919-1921)
Wow, the horizon’s looking close
In the room, the tip of the folded umbrella is pointed
The tablecloth with many red stripes, five or six flowers
Both inside and outside the room, all’s dazzling, dazzling
A large curtain opens facing the summer
A profile of a woman sitting under a red parasol
The sound of her breathing I can’t hear, I can’t hear
Note on Muse:
The sea overwhelms the summer. The woman in Matisse's painting, close to the sea, controls the summer. Summer is a refreshing blend of red and blue. The umbrella is also present.
