두 갈매기

 

그때 이렇게 따뜻한 물살이었다.
캄캄한 우주를
앞서거니 뒤서거니 날아가는
갈매기 두 마리가
파도에 둥실 뜨는
운명같은 것이다.
사람이 살지 않는 세상쪽
거대한 전파망에 잡히는
지구 그림자를 본다.
밀리듯 끌리듯 날아가는
갈매기 두 마리가
아주 없어져도 괜찮다 싶은
조그만 엑스자의 나란함이다.
그때 이렇게 눈부신 햇살이었다.
시시각각 쪼개지는
진주홍색 하늘로
끼룩끼룩 덤벼들던
갈매기 두마리의 발자국이
운명같은 것이다.

 

The Two Seagulls

 

It was a warm beam of water waves.
The two seagulls flying away
in the dark of the universe
one after another, or ahead of the other,
afloat atop of the sea waves:
It was what the destiny was like.
On the side of the world where no human dwells
captured by a gigantic net of radar,
I see the shadow of the earth.
The two seagulls,
as if pushed and pulled,
are the tiny X's in parallel
that may just as well fade away for sure.
It was such a dazzling beam of the sunrays.
The footmarks left by the two seagulls
that were charing on and on
at the deep scarlet sky
splitting moment to moment:
It was what the destiny would be like.
