Glass
Beside the light, transparent
Ringing clear in my ears
The sound of a fairy’s robe flying in the sky
Beyond the glass wall, bright all around, near the fairy
A dazzling darkness covering the right shoulder
Removing my glasses, I gaze
Into your depths
Poet’s Note:
Inside the large building at the Bronx Botanical Garden, a fairy, possibly
Alice, is soaring gracefully beyond the glass wall into the sky. Unbelievable.
