Rabbit Hole

 

Wonderland You lose yourself completely
Alice’s arms and legs all disappear
The cave is bright We’re all mad here
Climbing up a branch without hesitation
The Cheshire Cat grins wider and wider

Chunka chunka The sound of an acoustic guitar
Your face The look of you with eyes shut tight

 

Poet’s Note:
I’ve been meaning to go meet Alice. I wandered around

for a while in the rabbit hole at the Bronx Botanical Garden.
